Our girl turned 16 months old on Monday, Memorial Day. She celebrated by just hanging out in Rehoboth and being her silly self. Reese has become more and more silly lately. Super silly in fact. You should see the funny ways she walks around the house (and you will if I can catch it on video) and the silly faces she makes just to make people laugh. I don't know where she gets her comic ways considering she comes from such serious serious parents.16month likes - mommy and daddy, paco, grandparents, dogs, books, music and dancing, dolls, babies, watching other kids, being out and about, riding in a shopping cart, swimming, taking baths, climbing as high as she can on anything climbable, itsy bitsy spider and other interactive songs, being startled in a fun way, blankie/baby/elmo/pooh to sleep with, talking on the phone, watching tv, elmo and winnie the pooh, paco and other cats, playing outside either in the grass or with her sand/water table, going for walks, running, being barefoot, kisses and hugs, tickles, taking off her shoes, being chased, her toys, pressing buttons, looking at her own blog and seeing videos of herself, rumaging through people's purses, bubbles, balls, brushing teeth and hair, apples, chicken nuggets and fish sticks, crackers, peanut butter, toast, milk in a bottle, water in a cup, riding in her push car around the block, any of those crunchy gerber snacks, plastic easter eggs, monkeys and books about monkeys jumping on the bed, calamari and bloomin onion (go figure!), pizza, going to the post office, meeting strangers, feeding herslef with a fork/spoon, sleeping with mommy or daddy, chatting about stuff, unplugging the computer while mommy is trying to update the blog, and being a silly goose.
16month dislikes - getting dressed or changed, diaper changes, the carseat (again this has become a significant issue), milk in a cup, when mommy or daddy leaves her sight, waking up quickly, vegetables, fruit other than apples, anything on a spoon that anyone else is trying to feed her, pasta, being told no, when she can't reach something she wants, wearing hats, manicures/pedicures, when mommy and daddy pay attention to each other and not her, not being allowed to eat cat treats, loud trucks/motorcycles, loud/boisterous children, daycare at the gym, noises that she deems scary, dogs up close and personal.
new words she says at 16months old - eat, bubbles, cookie, ok, opa, fish, pooh, monkey, dolly, doggie, i don't know, where is, wow, ball, and apple. She still says all the words from her 15 month list as well...she has a pretty decent vocabulary and has started putting two words togethere. Last week she said "daddy night night" and "opa bye bye". She can also sign for butterfly and when she wants to sing Itsy Bitsy Spider. And the animal noises she makes are monkey, piggie, owl, lion, and chicken (I'm trying to get this on video to share b/c it's hysterical). She also says "shhhhhh" if you tell her to be quiet and shakes her finger and says "no no" at things she knows she's not supposed to touch....although she usually touches them anyway. She has also figured out how to shake her head yes, rather than sign yes which is cute to see. It's a very emphatic head shake.
AND.....drumroll please....she now says.....MOMMA! She says it loud and clear and whenever she is looking for me. I waited a long time to hear her say my name and it warms my heart everytime she says it. I love my little bitty girl and I love being her momma.
And yup, that onsie is still 3 month sized. Itty bitty.
