So Reese got off schedule recently and we've been going through a bit of a rough patch with her sleeping at night....rough would be putting it lightly. She likes to fall asleep with her binkie, but lately has been rejecting the binkie more and more in favor of...just sort of whimpering and fussing...its sad. And she loves her green blanket, but she's sort of taken to wanting it on top of her and petting it rather than actually cuddling with it. And she loves her Beatles lullabies, but sometimes they aren't enough to make her feel totally sleepy. So we went through the line-up of lovey possibilites with her. Do you like this pink blanket with a bunny head? It has a soft heart in the middle. Nope...ok. Do you like this fuzzy blue blanket? It has silky tags on it. Nope...ok. Do you like this fuzzy puppy dog? He's got soft ears. Nope...ok. Do you like this bunny that feels just like your green blanket? Nope...ok. And on and on we went until....the soft pink blanket with the french poodle head. Suddenly a light lit up in her eyes, she grabbed it, and she hasn't really let go of it since. If she moves in bed, she drags it with her. If she gets stuck in the corner and you try to readjust her, she reaches for it in her sleep. She likes to hold it with the head part down so she can cuddle with the blanket part and rub it through her fingers...sound familiar? And tonight for the very first time....Reese went to sleep in her bed all by herself by cuddling and holding her lovey tight. Mommy sat right next to her crib in case she got scared, but all was well with Reese and her loveys. Got binkie, got green blankie, got beatles lullabies, got pink french poodle blankie....
So to whoever sent us this lovely gift, I think it was a friend of the family, but I can't remember offhand, thank you from two sleep deprived parents and one happy little girl.
