monkey see, monkey do

Reese has developed the fine art of mimicking and it is downright hysterical sometimes. Here's a few of her recent funny moments:

*When she puts something in her mouth that she shouldn't (ie pine needles from the christmas tree) and you say "what's in your mouth Reese?", she'll open wide for you and say "aaahhh". She learned this from Grandpa on Christmas Eve. But sometimes she wants some attention and so she will pretend to be chewing on something so that mommy gets nervous and says "Reesey open your mouth and show me what you have in there" and she says "aaaaahhhh" but with a sneaky smile on her face and if you try to put your finger in her mouth to see what she has, she bites you. Little bugger!

*One day last week, mommy choked on something (you all know my choking issues, right?) and was really coughing for a good long time. Reesey joined in on the action and also started coughing...a lot. It was sort of ridiculous that we were both sitting in the kitchen coughing for 10 minutes. And for the rest of the day she coughed everytime she saw me. Yes Reese, mommy was coughing before, but its over now so you can stop. And when she wants some attention (when mommy is in the shower, driving the car, or trying to update the blog), Reese will have another fake choking fit. You must agree...she's a little bugger!

*If daddy makes funny noises and faces at her (which she finds downrigt hysterical), she will make her own funny noises and faces back at him and then point at him as if to say "Now your turn, Daddy!" Adorable!

*She will scrunch up her nose and breath like a puppy if you do it first. And if you bow like a princess at her, she will bow back...thanks to Aunt Nookie for teaching her that one.

*If people are kissing on tv, Reese will try to kiss mommy. And she's relentless...no dodging a big sloppy wet kiss from Reese when she gets it in her head that she wants to smooch!

*We've been trying to get Reese to eat food for a while now with very little luck. One thing we continually offer her is apples...little bits of them on her plate. And every single solitary time we give her apples, she picks them all up and flicks them onto the floor. Yesterday mommy and Reese watched a show with a monkey in it and the monkey was eating apples so mommy said "Look Reesey, that monkey likes to eat apples" at least 100 times. Well, that night she ate all of her apples and not one of them was flilcked on the floor...in fact it was the cheerios she flicked on the floor! And when she was done eating all the apples on her plate, she signed for more! Shocking!

So like I said...what our little monkey sees, our little monkey does.
