...the growth charts, that is. Reese has been having weight checks every two weeks due to being so far below 0%. The doctors continue to be unfazed by her size, but like keeping an eye on her rate of growth, which is reallllllly sloooooow. Today we went for Reese's 15month appointment and as usual, we got her on the scale for the big number. Good news! She now weighs in at 17lbs and 12oz, which is still below the 5th percentile, but the doctor said "looks like she's right around 1st percentile". Yay! She is also 29.25 (15th percentile) inches long, which means technically she has not outgrown her infant carseat...ha ha ha ha! It goes up to 22lbs and 30inches, but we switched her out of it anyway so that she could see out the window in the convertible carseat a few months ago. Also, her head circumference is 17.5inches which is in the 5th percentile. It's all good news!
She also said that her lungs are clear, her heart is strong, her ears and eyes look great and was thrilled with the update about her eye clearing up on it's own. She thinks Reese looks proportionate, although she has a chubby belly. She looked at Reese's shoes and said "oh, this girl is running and climbing all over the place, isn't she?" She was also impressed by Reese's vocabulary as well as her dancing skills. Reese said "hi" with a big smile to both the nurse and doctor when they walked it and "bye" with a big frown when they tried to exam her.
Reese then got two shots, the 4th of her dTaP series and the 4th of her Prevnar series. We decided to delay the MMR at this time and will rethink it for her next appointment. Oh, and her next appointment is in three months...no weight checks for now! yay!!
